Automation As A Service (AaaS)

Automation as a Service (AaaS) will finally come out of its nascent stage and become a crucial part of the automation strategy for businesses. AaaS focuses on packaged automation, provided by third-party vendors. As a service, it will analyze the areas of a business that can be automated, and send the reports to domain experts. These experts will roll out sophisticated bots to automate tasks to increase efficiency and drive down operational costs.

Automation For SMBs

Automation will see its biggest gains for the small and mid-size businesses (SMBs). COVID-19 has reiterated the importance of lean and agile workflows for small businesses, and automation makes it possible for them to improve their productivity and reliability. According to a Zapier report, 63% of SMBs admit that automation helped them quickly shift their business strategy keeping the pandemic in mind and the flexibility will keep being a desirable asset for companies going forward.

Hyperautomation

Gartner puts hyperautomation as the evolved automated ecosystem in a company that leverages AI and ML to not only augment humans but also streamline system-wide operations with sophisticated codes.  Companies looking to maintain their competitive edge with agile continuous testing will be using hyperautomation to improve backend tasks as much as possible. As a comprehensive process, hyperautomation also uses intelligent business process management (IBMP) and robotic process automation (RPA), which brings us to the next point.

RPA To The Fore

Robotic process automation (RPA) is a vital part of hyperautomation but it can also be used as a standalone program for companies that are looking to maximize efficiency, cut down their cost, and minimize human errors. RPA takes care of mundane day-to-day tasks like data entry, invoicing, report management, and basic inventory management. According to a Gartner report, 40% of businesses with a physical presence will increase their profit by offering virtual services by 2025. Advanced RPA will play a crucial role in shifts as big as this one.

Streamlined BPA

With business process automation (BPA) becoming an important part of core operations such as data warehousing, companies will look to streamline and standardize it to offer efficiency and clarity for all the parties involved. This will enable C-suite employees and shareholders to adopt an agile iron triangle, which will lead to better decision-making without sacrificing the basic tenets.

This year, automation in businesses is going to be more prevalent than ever. Organizations will continue to find ways to improve their offerings by analyzing the changing customer dynamics and automating tasks that don’t add positive ROI with manual processes.
