If you are living in New York City and you are thinking about giving your once-in-a-lifetime idea a chance, you probably need to know how to best facilitate the assets that your city has to offer. I don’t think anyone would disagree that a startup founder’s guide would be a great help when getting started. Many people believe the business idea itself is the hard part, but it’s actually the other way around. Planning, collecting information and setting up shop is where you will spend most of your time, so whatever tips that could make the process easier should at least be considered.
New York City, or the city that never sleeps, is a formidable place to kick off your startup in. For one thing, you will always have people to discuss your ideas with. One of the most valuable things that I have learned during my own startups is that even though you have a clear picture of how to execute your idea and row it to shore, you can learn a lot from other people’s experiences and opinions. It’s important to remember, however, that running a company is an individual experience and will always be different. Trust your idea, evolve it and let it grow with the help of the interaction it receives.
As mentioned at the beginning of this article, New York City has a lot to offer startups and their founders. I recently stumbled across an infographic named “A Startup Founder’s Guide To NYC” (created by Cheap Flights) that inspired me to write this article and that might help give you a few ideas on how to make your startup a little bit easier on the mind.
Not only is New York City a great place because of the enormous amount of creative and like-minded people living there, but as mentioned in this startup founder’s guide infographic, setting up shop in New York City will also put you shoulder to shoulder with some of the world’s most successful startups ever. Google, Facebook, Etsy, LinkedIn and Yahoo are some of the companies that you could be rubbing shoulders with. Not a bad source of inspiration if you ask me.
There are of course a million other reasons why setting up your startup in New York City is a great idea and this startup founder’s guide will have you making progress in no time.
