Science Behind Who Clicks On Your Banner Ads & Why [Infographic]

One of the most vital parts of having an online enterprise is making sure people know about it enough to become clients or customers. Online advertising is one of the most effective ways to grow your business, and to attract visitors to your online service or product page. But without proper research, it can be hard to know where to advertise or even who is clicking your banner ads. If you know how an Internet user’s mind works, you have a greater chance of receiving a click.

There are of course a lot of different factors that determine whether someone will click on your banner ads or not. It can be everything from the design and colors to the placement of it. There are also factors like what is presented on the page where your ad is placed. If the page you place your banner ads on presents information about animals it might not be the best choice if you’re offering a service targeted at people who want to stop smoking for example.

There is a whole science behind who clicks on banner ads, and in order to give you a few tips and tricks on how to increase the clicks you receive on them, I decided to look for an infographic that might shed some much needed light on the matter. I managed to find an infographic called Who Looks At Banner Ads presented by Prestige Marketing Inc.

The two most important reasons why people click on banner ads (at least according to this study) are because it shows a product that the consumer is already interested in and because the banner ad sparked their interest in a product they hadn’t previously considered. When it comes to why people don’t click on your banner ads though, the most popular reason is because they don’t want to be distracted from what they are looking at or reading.

As you can see, there are a lot of factors that determine whether someone will actually click on your banner ads or not. If you want to increase your banner ad clicks, it’s vital that you optimize your placement, design and color. Remember that it also matters what page you decide to place your banner ads on as well. Once you know these things, you can expect a higher return on your investment. Have a look at this infographic and optimize your banner ads to yield a higher and more secure return. The more you advertise, the more experience you will get, which will tell you exactly where to place your future online promotions.
