Since it’s Super Bowl weekend, and I love football, I couldn’t resist finding something fun to write about it. Which team are you supporting this year? I LOVE New York, so it’s the Giants all the way for me. w00t! The game doesn’t even start until tomorrow night, but I have friends in NYC who have already started partying.
As you know, each player on the winning team every year gets the coveted Super Bowl ring. According to Wikipedia, those rings usually cost around $5,000 each, and they are typically full of diamonds and gold. I’ve only ever seen one of those rings once in my life, and I remember it was super big and very gaudy, which is awesome!
It was better than any of the chunky costume jewelry I have in my collection. Those rings are ultimate bling-bling, and I’m sure the players who have earned them treasure them. My friend David recently posted this fun collection of Super Bowl rings from throughout football history. I wonder who designs these. Some of them are really, really well done. I like that Tampa Bay ring design a lot, but I’m not a big fan of yellow gold. If you’d like to know the details on each one of these, just click over to Origin of Cool.
