Have you noticed that sometimes at the end of December when we are making our list of New Years Resolutions, many creative artists are deciding what they are going to commit to doing each day? It seems like that concept is growing in popularity, and we’ve featured a lot of that “one-each-day” kind of art. I am blown away by the creativity and determination it takes for artists to have that kind of consistency to crank out their inspiration like that and share it with people every single day.
My Twitter friend @NiniBaseema is doing that now. I remember back in December she told me about the One Self Portrait A Day project she was organizing with some other photographers in social media. Now here we are in July, and that girl is still posting one self-portrait a day. The photographs are getting more interesting as time goes on, and many people look forward to what she is going to do the next day.
Campbell Whyte is another artist who made a commitment to post something every day. His collection is called 8-Bit Dreams. Each day he creates a watercolor painting of his own interpretation from one of the 799 NES games. It’s a lot of fun to go to Campbell Whyte daily and guess which game he painted. There is just something about his style that is so appealing to me. Maybe it’s the watercolor itself; I’ve always been a fan of that type of painting. You can purchase any of Campbell’s paintings on Etsy.
