One of my favorite characteristics of creative people is that they don’t see limits to anything really. Whether it’s how far they can take a design, an invention, or even a relationship, to them, there is no such thing as “going all the way.” There is always room for more innovation and creation. There are infinite examples that illustrate this, and today I’m going to focus on infographics.
As you know, we are all nuts for infographics at the moment. In the past year alone, just based on Google searches, our love of infographics has skyrocketed. Gathering relevant information and stats from a beautifully executed and designed infographic is truly a pleasure, and it’s no wonder we can’t get enough of them. Leave it to the creative people around the world to take infographic innovation even further than we’ve already seen. First, we were happy to enjoy infographic illustrations. Next, people started using 3D software to make them even more stunning. And now, infographics using 3D props and even people are being showcased around the web.
It seems as though only the most basic information can be displayed this way, but who knows, someone will probably figure out a way to make this type of presentation as detailed as any infographic we’ve seen. Just last week I saw the fascinating 3D infographics using people as the props in the work of Peter Orntoft featured on The Next Web. We were also exposed to the fun 3D infographics on Jose Duarte’s flickr photostream thanks to GeekOSystem. I’ve shared these with you below.
These are all incredible, and you can click on the above links to get a better look; however, I still think my favorite one of all is the Lego map build infographic I wrote about a few months ago. But then again, I’m a huge Lego fan, so naturally that would be my favorite one.
