Deep Fried Gadgets: Suddenly Your iPhone Looks Tasty

Whenever a new gadget is released, many of us rush out to buy it like our lives depended on it. We can’t think of anything other than getting it in our hot little hands. Then, after we have it a while, another new gadget is released, and we toss the old one (which isn’t really old) to the side and the cycle starts again. Does that remind of you of anything else? How about fast food? We get so hungry that we stop at the nearest drive-thru. We can’t gobble up that burger fast enough, and then we toss all the evidence of that meal in the garbage can, and it’s all forgotten forever. This is a similarity that Henry Hargreaves noticed himself.

Henry Hargreaves is truly a brilliant photographer. We’ve featured him so many times on Bit Rebels, and each one of his photography collections is as interesting to look at as the next. He, along with food stylist Caitlin Levin, created this series of photographs called Deep Fried Gadgets. Don’t worry, they didn’t actually cook these gadgets in a buttermilk batter. Instead, they made gadget replicas from foam and then overlaid photos of the real gadgets.

By combining deep-fried foods with our favorite devices, they make us look at the things we love a little bit differently. Some of those gadgets look kind of tasty to me. Hmm… maybe I should eat lunch. These photos are so bizarrely wonderful. If you would like to see some other really funky gadget photography, check out Blowtorched, Crushed and Shot Apple Products.
