DIY Creative Staircase Designs To Match Your Personality

It’s not unusual to see creative staircases. Many times architects will get a little wild and crazy with the way they put together our walkways to the next floor of a building. I’ve written about Stair Porn more than once, and it’s always a lot of fun. The staircase designs I’d like to share with you today are different though. They are designs and messages on the stairs themselves. I’ve never really seen anything quite like it before. It’s really got me thinking about all the possibilities when it comes to putting some personality on the stairs we step on each day.

I found an article today on Scraphacker called D.I.Y. Statement Staircases which featured a whole bunch of staircase designs that you can create for yourself. The creativity in some of these is almost overwhelming, and it’s something I definitely want to try. The piano design is my favorite, but they are all inspiring. If you created your own staircase designs for your home, what would they look like? Would you make something eclectic and original or would you go for something more subtle and simply complement the colors in the room?

This reminds me a lot of the Star Wars Escalator I wrote about a while back. On that escalator in Tel Aviv, someone painted the opening crawl from the original Star Wars movie on the escalator steps so you can read it as it moves. In a word, it’s brilliant!
