Since I’m a huge fan of nature and art, I especially like artwork that takes nature as we know it and gives it a twist. For example, these photographs of pixilated gaming characters romping around outside that Richard wrote about last week were really cool!
Today I would like to share with you the “Land Art” of Sylvain Meyer. It’s another interesting twist on nature, and at first glance, it might even be hard to tell what it is. However, once all the pieces click together in your mind, you’ll see how hugely fantastic this is! He uses the outdoors as his canvas, and since he lives in Switzerland, he has a lot of beautiful countryside to choose from.
The mediums he uses to create his landscapes are materials found in nature itself. When we take a walk on a nature trail and see dirt, rocks, logs, tree limbs, leaves, water and decomposition, it’s just that, part of nature, right? When Sylvain sees those things, his mind immediately starts thinking about what he could create with them. Nature is full of miraculous discoveries waiting to be found, and Sylvain just makes that happen a little faster. In addition to being beautiful works of art, it is all 100% eco-friendly. I love it!
