Playing Monopoly is always a lot of fun, but playing this web lovers edition would make it even better. According to Wikipedia, the earliest version of the Monopoly game we all know was introduced back in 1904. Since then, there have been all kinds of new versions, updates and tournaments. Of all the different boards I’ve seen, this creative, relevant one is definitely my favorite. Unfortunately, it’s only a concept design, so we can’t get it… yet.
This Internet focused version, which fits the lifestyle we live in, was designed by Make Some Design. In this one, the most highly ranking websites in the world are listed as the properties (Google, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Flickr, Wikipedia, Tumblr, Yahoo, IMDB, eBay, YouTube, Ask, AOL, CNN, CNET, etc…). Instead of Community Chest, there is Silicon Valley. Instead of going to jail, you go to the real world. Instead of collecting two hundred dollars each time you go around the board, you collect two hundred million dollars.
This would be so much fun to play on the weekends! Normally playing a game of Monopoly takes a few hours, but I bet that time would fly by if you were buying Facebook and Google and if you had a few houses set up on your Twitter property. My only question is, where is Pinterest? You can view more of Make Some Design’s work on his Behance page.
