I’m a big fan of geeky gloves. Since it was 22F (-5.5C) degrees this morning in Atlanta, and I’m still freeeezing my tush off even though I have a little heater under my desk, I thought a post about something warm might be appropriate today.
Adrian Bizilia, the artist who created these, calls them pulse warmers on her blog Hello Yarn. Why aren’t they called wrist warmers? I don’t know. Maybe it’s because they don’t cover your whole wrist, they only really cover your pulse. Regardless of the reason, they are as cute as can be, and she even provides a free pattern for making them. I’m not much of knitter, but after a few glasses of wine, I could probably be talked into giving it a shot.
On a side note, this is just yet another testament to the social networking site Pinterest. In case you haven’t heard of it, it’s a relatively new photo/video sharing service. Adrian originally posted this design on her blog back in 2007, but since it was pinned on Pinterest a day ago, and now it’s being repinned, it’s being noticed by geeky sites all over the Internet. Pinterest is quickly becoming one of my favorite sites to check out each morning, just like reddit. There are lots of little gems there just waiting to be discovered!
