Most of you for sure have seen cartoon animations, the ones shown now are very different from when we were younger. The majority are now in 3D, and they are spectacular. Most of my friends from college went to work for animation companies, and they deal with cell animation. This is a very tedious type of animation where everything is photographed frame by frame. However, what if you have not received a formal degree? What if you really do not have the time to make your full length cartoon bit? Do not fret. You can now make your own animated cartoon by creating a Flip Book.
What is a flip book? According to Wikipedia A flip book is a book with a series of pictures that vary gradually from one page to the next, so that when the pages are turned rapidly, the pictures appear to animate by simulating motion or some other change. Flip books are often illustrated books for children, but may also be geared towards adults and employ a series of photographs rather than drawings. Flip books are not always separate books, but may appear as an added feature in ordinary books or magazines, often in the page corners. Software packages and websites are also available that convert digital video files into custom-made flip books.
Check out the video below and see the step by step guide on how you can create a simple animation with stick figures. It is quite entertaining and fun. You do not even need to be good at drawing, you just need a lot of patience. Enjoy!
