How To: Set Up a Virtual Photo Shoot in Photoshop CS5

A couple of months ago, Adobe released their much acclaimed new edition of Photoshop, called CS5. The features it presents are something taken from the future it seems. With only the click of a few buttons, you can easily work with 2d stock images as well as 3d stock models to create stunning compositions without even knowing how to create the 3d models or having to shoot the 2d content yourself.

To compose a picture as stunning as any game artwork, cover or poster is as easy as adding simple text to your images with the text tool. All you have to do really is imagine what you want to create, find the content for it on the Internet (which in many cases is entirely free), and then just put it all together into an amazing composition that will have everyone wondering how and what skills you have to have in order to pull that off.

Sure, you can create your own 3D content with softwares like Lightwave, 3D Studio or Maya, but if you don’t have the time or the skills for that, there are several places where you can find really nice looking 3D models for free. Just do a quick search on Google and you will find a ton of sources. Now, just follow this simple and really powerful tutorial and you’ll be creating stunning and amazing artwork in no time. Happy composing!
