How To: Turn Your Sneakers Into Stylin Speakers

Have you ever heard of a sneaker customizer? Me either, until today. Alex Nash, otherwise known as NashMoney, calls himself a sneaker customizer. We’ve written a lot of articles about sneakers; however, what Alex did is very different. We normally see artists experiment with different sneaker designs, changing the colors and patterns.

Alex, on the other hand, worked on sneaker project where he actually deconstructed the sneaker to turn it into a completely different thing with a purpose different than using it as a sneaker. Wow, that was a mouthful. As you see below, he turned an iconic white pair of Nike Air Force 1s into a completely working set of sneaker speakers.

He had the idea drawn in his journal for three years before actually doing it for an inspired ingenuity project. He said the most difficult part of the process was gutting the sneaker itself since they are made so well. Since he had never worked with electronics before, you’d think that part would be difficult, but he just made sure to test it each step of the way, and it was all good!  You can read more about this project on Art & Sole. If someone told me they made sneaker speakers, I would think in my mind that they would probably look cheesy. However, as you see, these aren’t cheesy at all. These are beautiful! Brilliant!
