There aren’t a whole lot of foods that I’m afraid of, but Jello is one of them. If you’ve read my articles before, you know that I’m not a big fan of whatever that substance is that we call Jello. I still have my theory that it’s possible aliens dropped Jello on this planet just so they could laugh every time they see someone eat it because it definitely doesn’t look like it comes from this planet.
If you watch it drop in this slow motion video, you’ll get a feel for what I’m talking about. My 10-year-old son knows that if he gets in big trouble, he doesn’t get grounded or banned from playing video games. Nope, his punishment is much worse. He either has to eat a bowl of cubed up Jello, or he can walk to the cashier in the store and purchase my girly products for me. Both of those options are the equivalent of taking a walk in hell to him. Just thinking about either one of those is enough to keep him doing his homework every day without giving me a fuss.
As if Jello weren’t bad enough, somewhere along the way someone invented a cup made out of Jello that you can eat. I guess if you’re too lazy to do the dishes, you might as well serve drinks in these edible Jello cups. *Gag* I had to giggle when I saw photographer Jessica Beebe‘s photo series called Everything’s Alright Here. She shows soon-to-be psychotic killers, complete with insane smiles and, of course, holding molds of Jello (with little surprises inside, and that ain’t fruit). In a twisted Stepford Wives kind of way, I love these! You can learn more about Jessica at The Stapelia Company or on her flickr page. You can also purchase any of these prints here. Thank you for the smiles Jessica!
