We are no strangers to creative architecture on Bit Rebels. There is really nothing more inspiring that seeing a designer build something unusual and unexpected in a public space, and we’ve written about it too many times to count. My favorite ones so far are this insane playground, this humongous office slide, and this castle made out of cases of beer (does that one count?).
The design I want to share with you today is truly mind-boggling. I have never seen anything like this before. This is the world’s highest tennis court, which happens to be at the world’s most luxurious hotel. It’s a seven star place to stay. I didn’t even know the scale went up to seven stars. There is a small wire mesh which keeps people who play tennis here from falling over the edge. Hmm…
The hotel is called the Burj Al Arab, and it’s located in Dubai. Most luxurious hotels offer limousines for their distinguished guests. This hotel houses a whole fleet of Rolls-Royces. If you stay here, you’ll not only have your own butler on call 24 hours a day, but you’ll also get to experience a rain shower in your suite. These pictures of Andre Agassi and Roger Federer were taken a few years ago when they played on this tennis court before the Dubai Tennis Tournament. This tennis court was built on what was previously the hotel’s helipad, and it’s about 300m above the ground. I bet the view from up there would be scary and spectacular, all at the same time.
