At first glance, I bet you wouldn’t guess the sculptures you see below are created from used books, would you? These lovely flowering pieces of art represent deeply personal representations of events as seen by designer Jacquline Rush Lee.
She’s been working with used books for almost a decade. On her website she says, “I am interested in how these recycled books come with their own histories of use and meaning.” Her goal is to take each book and completely transform it into something new.
Wow. It’s rare when I see a sculpture that I would actually be interested in displaying in my home, but I have fallen in love with this first one below. It would look perfect in my living room or bedroom. Thank you Jacquline. Your work is truly unique and inspiring!
