The Evolution Of Business Cards [Infographic]

Something that a lot of people never calculate into their startup plan is to spend a considerable amount of time on developing an idea for a business card that actually speaks for them instead of against them. Lately business cards have become almost an entire pitch method in themselves. If you develop the right kind of business card, whether it is innovative or not, you will notice that you will gain a lot of momentum when trying to reach out to new customers or clients. The networking gets considerably more easy as well if you have a business card that speaks the language you are trying to mediate with, if you know what I mean. If your business card looks out of the ordinary, you can be sure that the person you give it to will remember you and keep it close at hand.

Something that I certainly did not know was that the business card industry is a 12 billion dollar industry. When you think about it, that’s a lot of money and a lot of business cards being created. That alone should be a sign that business cards really work as a promotional tool. The history of business cards and their evolution is far from short, and if it didn’t work, it would have ended long ago. It actually has roots all the way back to the 15th century. However, since then, business cards have come a long way and gone through a ton of different shapes and forms.

With the technology getting ever smaller, I think we’ll see quite a lot of cool business cards starting to emerge soon. I feel as though this whole industry has stagnated a little bit, which is a little sad really. Sure, every once in a while, there are some clever contraptions that get released and shot into the spotlight. However, it’s far too rare, and I think if someone could just approach it from a more innovative angle, it could potentially revolutionize the industry of business cards.

The more technological and creative business cards always get the most attention, and we here at Bit Rebels are not late featuring this. It feels like it’s our duty to do so. If you should be one of the people out there who prides themselves on designing innovative and creative business cards, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us so we can let everyone see your brain children. We would be more than happy to hear from you.

This particular infographic, called The Evolution Of Business Cards (as once again the title implies), is one of those easy to read history lessons that everyone should take a look at. Not only does it contain some rather interesting information about the origins of business cards, but it also tells a story between the lines of just where things are headed in the future. All you have to do is to decode it. Let your mind be free and clear so that you yourself can come up with the next step for business cards.

Never before has the sharing of your name, title and contact information been so important for business owners and brand builders. Don’t lose out on making a kickass first impression. Your entire business or branding plan could depend on it. (Infographic designed by MOO Print Limited)
