14 Dressing Room Diva Demand Lists Of Your Favorite Artists

It’s one of the most mysterious and notorious topics you can think of when debating your favorite artist. We read about it over and over again, and why we put so much energy in caring about it is interesting really. I am talking about the mandatory list of demands for any successful singer when it comes to gigs and concerts. They tend to be as lavish and extravagant as their egos, but that’s not what really makes them so interesting. It’s what is actually on their lists that we want to see. Some things are just way out there, which makes you wonder whether these items are added to list just to make the artist more mysterious or because they want to see if the even manager will be able to tend to their needs, no matter what.

So what is on these lists to begin with? Well, I recently stumbled over a set of “Diva Lists” for some of the most successful artists on the planet. What they demanded in order to even fly to these locations to play is really… well, ridiculous sometimes. The collection of lists, from artists like Eminem, Jay-Z, David Bowie, LIL Wayne, Aerosmith, Black Eyed Peas, Coldplay, Elton John, Kanye West, 50 Cent, NEYO, NIN, Outcast and of course Prince, is as mind boggling as you can imagine.

Of course some of the items are bound to be things that are there to help the artist get in shape, and to make their performance the best it can be. However, I remember when Prince was here in Stockholm to perform, he demanded to the event manager that his dressing room and lounge were painted purple or he just wouldn’t want to show up. There were of course a lot of other demands that were just out there, but that’s not really as interesting as the fact that they are able to make them. The question is, what would you demand if you had the chance to make your own diva list?
