The Best Casino Games Created Around Epic TV Shows

The large fan base that amazing TV shows generate is now a major consideration for the game designers that create online casino games. A TV-themed creation enables players to play an engaging game with alluring game mechanics all in their favorite TV universe. It’s a winning combination and these are probably the pick of the bunch.

The Walking Dead

This zombie apocalypse survival story is not as popular as it once was. as it inches towards its final episode and ultimately concludes after eleven seasons on the air. Yet, with spin-offs such as Fear the Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, Tales of the Walking Dead, and an as-yet-untitled series with popular characters Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) coming out soon, there is clearly still interest in the franchise.

Those that frequent the abundance of online casinos available in UK entertainment markets will be aware of the gambling software development company Playtech. Working in co-operation with the series producer, AMC, Playtech has created an eerie online slot game based in Alexandria and featuring the main characters from the show.

Importantly, features of the show are incorporated into the slot with The Horde, The Whisperers, and The Saviours free games feature, but it’s the music that performs best. The soundtrack is creepy and intense and so the slot genuinely captures the nature of the TV show.

Game Of Thrones

A cultural phenomenon that didn’t stick its landing, but due to the exceptional source material by George R. R. Martin and the general popularity of the fantasy genre, still has a large fandom. That fan base looks set to increase with HBO’s prequel series House of the Dragon chronicling the beginning of the end of House Targaryen on our screens soon.

There are many slots available with fantasy themes, with dragons and leprechauns featuring prominently, but Microgaming has created the official Game of Thrones slot. The developers have previously devised slots based on movies, with the Jurassic Park slot the most recognizable, but this TV tie-in is proving to be one of their most sought-after creations.

Players select either house Stark, Baratheon, Lannister, or Targaryen and each has its differing traits with free spins, multipliers, and stacked symbols. Microgaming has also released a spin-off game with Game of Thrones Power Stacks, which is more character-focused and boasts slightly better graphics. Whichever game you choose to play, it’s the iconic Game of Thrones theme music from the opening credits of the show that transports you to Westeros and ramps up the tension.

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

A little different from the previous titles, but popular game shows have been a happy stomping ground for slot developers, and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? is undoubtedly one of the greatest game shows of all time. The game show that first appeared on British TV in 1998 spawned countless international variants and still has the power to excite contestants and audiences.

Playtech has an exclusive deal with Sony Pictures Television to create the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Live Roulette game and are expected to assemble more games based on the hit show. There are familiar features that viewers of the show will recognize with 50/50 and Ask the Audience included, but Phone a Friend has been adjusted to become Ask the Host.

Just like being on the show, it’s a little daunting for anyone new to this type of live dealer online game, but Playtech allows you to play the game without an active bet in play so you can familiarise yourself with the format.

With all the streaming options available now, it isn’t difficult to find a compelling TV program to entertain you. A well-constructed show can become hugely popular making its stars into household names and gathering an army of loyal fans that devour any plot speculation and are always hungry for new content. With these popular titles transmitting their success to the online casino market, it seems that TV tie-ins will remain a feature of popular casino games.
