Creative Advertising: Cute Kids Become Adult Movie Characters

We’ve featured a lot of creative advertising in the past, and this is another great example. These cute kids photographed as adult movie characters are just too clever not to share with you. These movies aren’t new, and everyone is familiar with these movie characters, yet GlobalComm, the advertising agency that put this together, did a fabulous job of making something old new again. This is a fresh perspective in movie posters, and it’s definitely playful and adventurous.

This is all part of a creative advertising campaign for a brand new movie theater in Brazil in the Praia de Belas shopping center. It’s a completely modern theater with all the latest technology and big, plush cozy seats. In order to entice people to give it a go, they had these posted made. You’ll see children dressed as Forrest Gump, Jack Sparrow, Edward Scissorhands, Cruella da Vil, Indiana Jones and even Neytiri. If you are looking for a cute Halloween costume for your kid, here ya go! The attention to detail in each one of these is incredible, and it all comes together to make these kids look exactly like the movie characters they are portraying.

These ads started displaying a few months ago, and I wonder if the theater has been successful as a result. According to Ads of the World, it’s “a brand new movie theater, now on the 3rd floor with six rooms, two with 3D technology, larger and more comfortable seats, four modern self-service terminals, tickets sales and seat booking online.” Dang, I want to see a movie there! Each one of these kids looks strikingly like the movie character he or she represents. I would love to know more about the casting process for this campaign, and how they decided on which characters and which kids to select. The Edward Scissorhands is my favorite. Everyone involved in this project did such a great job! What a great way to make watching movies seem like a new experience. It’s this type of creative advertising that can inspire you to achieve greatness!
