Valve recently announce Left 4 Dead 2 (L4D2) at the famous anual E3 Conference.  This will see a load of new content pumped into the L4D genre.  This can’t be a bad thing, but the announcement has caused massive unrest within the PC Gaming world.
Valve are widely known for their excellent support, the love to release reasonably priced games and then add content to them for free.  This is also what the promised with Left 4 Dead, so as you can imagine L4D2’s announcement rocked the current community, not because people are not excited about new content, but its just they were promised new content to be release with L4D.  Another sour point is that L4D has only been out for a year, and suddenly L4D 2 has been announced.
So as you can imagine there have been threads blazing, boycott groups formed, you tube videos made… Â 31,000 steam users have vowed not to buy the game on release calling for it to be downloadable content, most don’t mind paying for it, just as long as it upgrades and extends the current game instead of overwriting it. Â They also see it as an valve pandering to their Xbox 360Â user-base.
As a L4D lover myself, I still have not made up my mind on the matter… Are they going a little over the top?
