Star Wars Fan Corrects The Yoda Language [Video]

I have to admit that when I saw Yoda in Star Wars for the first time, I was a little bit confused about the way he spoke. It was all backwards, but it still made perfect sense. For someone who doesn’t know the English language as a native, I can certainly understand that it must take a bit of getting used to in order to fully appreciate the way the words come out. However, we have all learned how to tackle it, and we now fully understand the way he uses words and expresses himself. If you ask me, Yoda must be the most original movie character ever designed. I mean, how many characters do you know and recognize from the way they speak, right?

It so happens that some people have been thinking about these things so much that they actually wanted to do something about it. One person in particular is MechaStewar (which I assume is his Vimeo alias) who actually went to great lengths to correct the language into fully compatible English. Now, when you listen to it for the first time, it’s quite mind twisting to hear Yoda speak perfect English. We are so used to hearing him speak his own way that when you listen to this it just sounds… weird.

What the creator did was to cut the movie clips so that they are all aligned as the English should have been spoken by a regular English speaking person. I keep wondering to myself if he has added some words in there to make it even more correct. I mean, there are so many people out there today who can speak “Yoda” that I assume he can as well. So, making a correction to the English would be quite easy since he can just add the sound clips missing so that it sounds like Yoda is speaking perfect English. However, I don’t want to believe this is the way he did it, and I will just submit to the thought that MechaStewart cut it legit to make it sound like it does.
