15 Superheroes & Movie Characters In Vintage Photo Series

With the new Avengers movie about to be released in the U.S., there is a hype going on that is without competition. It’s one of those movies that is expected to break a number of records and has already done so in a few places around the world. It was actually released in 12 different territories prior to its release in the U.S. on the 4th of May. It’s like everyone is talking about superheroes right now. There has certainly been a lot of these movies lately but none as epic as this one. At least, that’s the word about it when you talk to someone who has already seen it. Superheroes have been the epicenter of spoofs and creativity for the last couple of years now. Fortunately, it just doesn’t seem to end.

To accompany this hype, Italian artists Marvellini Brothers have been mixing up old vintage photographs with superhero accessories, and it’s one of those really odd yet wonderful creations. It’s a series of 15 photographs that will not only give you a giggle, but also show their unusual skills with Photoshop when retouching images. I find it interesting since we are not used to seeing vintage photographs mixed with the new.

It’s a magnificent blend of beautiful old vintage photographs mashed up with the superheroes that mesmerize us all on the silver screen. It’s kind of mind twisting to see these black and white photographs with 20th century accessories all attached seamlessly into their environment and time era. It’s stuff like this that really makes you wonder how many of the historic pictures that we have seen have actually been manipulated to depict something way more epic than it actually was. Are we “building” history as we go, or are we staying true to the real story our real lives accomplished each and every day? I guess that is a question that will keep haunting us as photo editing software becomes more advanced, right?
