18 Pulp Fiction Characters Forever Pixel Immortalized

They have become a cult phenomenon, and they keep appearing at least once a week nowadays. I am of course talking about the pixelized movie characters that take us back to the 8-bit era when Commodore 64 and its peers founded the gaming landscape that we’re used to today. I remember starting up a game from a company called Psygnosis (now bought up and incorporated into Sony Computer Entertainment or SCE), and I was mesmerized by the sheer detail the game had.

It was on the Amiga 500, and the way this game came across in the media was phenomenal. Everyone gave it 98%, and it was a revolution in graphics. The game I am talking about is “Shadow of The Beast“. It was a huge leap in graphics for a 2D scrolling game. Psygnosis went on to create several legendary games Sony before bought the company.

Even though the resolution in games has increased considerably, the need for some blocky pixelated graphic inspiration is at its highest peak, and we don’t seem to be able to get enough of it. Everyone here at Bit Rebels is just in love with them all. My latest article with the pixelated Star Trek characters was immensely popular, and it was probably due to the insanely accurate and cool matrix of those pixelated characters.

This one; however, does not include as many characters, but it truly makes use of every single pixel added. Everything that is created with Pulp Fiction in mind is considered cool, and that is of course because the movie became such a huge cult statement. The rawness and the gritty nature of the movie were new and fresh when it was first released. So are these pixelated characters that have been immortalized with just a few pixels. It just doesn’t get any cooler than Pulp Fiction, and I think any geek will agree with me on this one. This set of charcters was created by the truly talented designer Andy Rash.
