Backyard Scientist Creates An Aluminum Flaming Sword

Cosplay is getting bigger and bigger. People are creating the most mind-blowing costumes, and there is no end to the creativity. Some people go for the more subtle and simple, while others tinker for years until their costume is perfected. They all have one thing in common, and that is that they all love cosplay. A YouTuber by the name of The Backyard Scientist might not be a tremendously fanatic cosplayer. However, he knows how to create something epic. How about a flaming sword made out of aluminum? Well, he has done that!

It turns out all you need to get started is a sword made out of foam, and you’re all set to go. Not exactly! Oh, and this is the part when I tell you that you should NOT, under any circumstances, try this at home. You will need to remove the plastic tube in the foam sword with an iron one. Then you have to make a mold out of the foam sword and then pour molten aluminum into it. Once it is done, drill a few holes on the edges of the sword blade, and you are all ready to go.

I tell you, it sounds a lot easier than it is. Even The Backyard Scientist makes it look super simple. I can assure you, however, that it is not. It’s a lot of hard work, and it will probably take you a few days to go through the entire process.

The effect when used, is outstanding! Sure, it could be a little more boost in it, but the build demonstrates the coolness of it perfectly. Unfortunately, you won’t be slaying any dragons with it anytime soon. First off, there are no real dragons, I don’t know if you know that, but there aren’t (just making sure you know that). If there were, this flaming sword would not be powerful enough to slay it. Well, now when that is out of the way, do watch the video of the epic build and demonstration of the flaming sword. Not a single watermelon will be safe!
