Amazing Micro Photography: The City Of Staples

Not too long ago, Diana wrote about the 100,000 Staple City. It was an amazing feat of engineering, and when viewed from afar, it was utterly mind boggling. Not only must it have taken an incredibly steady hand, but it also must have required immense patience. The pictures of that build are something I am sure we won’t see the likes of again anytime soon, unless that same guy attempts the same trick, and this time uses 200,000 staples. However, there are of course other ways to get a new perspective on that kind of creativity. Instead of supercharging your daily schedule with building such a time consuming city, you can simply fall back on the micro scale details that the staples themselves offer instead.

Roger Albani, a distinguished photographer and a pioneer in micro creativity, found a new and impressive world using staples as his inspiration. By just setting up a few staple rows forming somewhat the same kind of buildings that Peter Root did, he managed to alter the perspective and take close-up pictures using a micro scale zoom. The result is a mind boggling set of photographs that immediately tells your brain you are looking at a city, a real one!

Using just a few simple lighting tricks, he enhances the effect even more, and completely fools you into believing what you know isn’t real. From the staples, the lighting and the creativity come photographs that have rows of windows, roof edges and a beautiful city skyline. I am beside myself with these photographs, and I can’t stop looking at all the details, the reflections and the way the lighting dances across the metal surfaces. It’s pure genius, and a wonderful evening inspiration and view. They truly have me captivated!
