Apple ’80s Hipster Clothing

Today is yet another one of those greatly anticipated Apple announcement days when the technology giant is going to share what they have been working on. Some say it will be just another “update” of things, while others say that they desperately need to launch something new and innovative in order to keep their stock from falling through the foundation that Steve Jobs built up. There is a lot at stake, and everyone knows it. If Tim Cook and friends were to release something that Steve Jobs was not involved in, and it failed, the era of Apple’s domination would be scathed and most likely bruised beyond recognition. However, sources say that Steve Jobs left 5-10 years worth of patents and ideas, so how would we know if Mr. Jobs was involved in what Apple launches within this time period?

I guess we don’t, it’s as simple as that. Sure, Tim Cook would most likely tell us, but whether that is the truth or not, only research and insider information would reveal. Of course, Apple has missed the mark previously with their products. When first announced, the AppleTV or iTV was a huge failure in terms of sales. So was the clothing line that was discontinued steeply after the launch back in the ’80s. Oh, you haven’t heard of that?

Well, it so happens that Apple actually had its own clothing collection targeted for hardcore and average fans of Apple. When you go through it, you quickly notice the upscale and brat-ish feel and style of it. Would it work today? I doubt it. There is something to learn here actually. Look at all of Apple’s failures and then compare them to any other company’s failures. What makes Apple different is that the people there have the ability to clean up the mess they created and start anew. This seems to be something that most companies are not able to do. One major failure, and you’re history. It will be mighty interesting to see what Apple will announce today. iPhone 5? An Apple TV? Or are we just going to be treated to some mediocre hardware and software updates like we have seen repeatedly? We’ll know soon.
