Benjamin Customization: Make Your Own $100 Bill

Are you tired of the same old Benjamin Franklin on your $100 bills? Well, there is not much we can do about that, but you can switch it up a little bit at least. You can imagine that with all the credit cards being thrown around, and the constant initiative where banks send us the same “Get a credit card, free of charge!” scam, there would be little real paper money in our wallets and pockets these days. This is especially true since we are shopping online with nothing but credit cards. There are few online businesses that actually do the shipping first, and then you pay when you pick up the  delivery.

I would almost bet that there aren’t many people walking around with a pocket full of Benjamins these days, right? However, if you are, and if you’re getting tired of staring Mr. Franklin in the face every time you pick up that wad of cash, then there is a solution that you might find very interesting.

There is a website out there called Make Your Franklin that will have you customizing that $100 bill in no time, and you get to show it off as well. It’s quite simple. All you have to do is download the template and customize it yourself. When you are done, you simply go back to their website and enter your customized Benjamin Franklin into the gallery for others to view. There are quite a lot of awesome “makes” in there already, so yours will be in good company.

The downside; however, is of course that you don’t get to use it in the real world, you know, the world you’re actually living in. These are purely for an art project meant to bring new inspiration into the world. You get to retain the copyright for your artwork as well, so there is no need to worry about that. The Make Your Franklin site only gets the right to preview it and to diffuse it. The full description of this project reads as follows:

“Make your Franklin is a community art project. Make your Franklin is international, bearer of a cultural reflexion. With this mind, Make your Franklin suggests each of you to re-create a symbol of modern society: the 100$ banknote.”
