Bug-A-Salt: The Shotgun Designed For Shooting Bugs With Salt

Yesterday while I was talking to my friend on the phone, I decided to step outside and enjoy the sunshine for a moment. I wasn’t even out there for one minute before I was attacked by a well-organized mosquito faction that must have been waiting for me to emerge from my house so they could ambush me. I looked down and very quickly realized that their arsenal was impossible to break free from. They had me covered on all sides and angles, and my legs may never be the same again. Well, at least for three or four days until all these bites heal. What I wish is that I had some sort of weapon so I could have been shooting bugs in that moment instead of being eaten by them.

I’ve written before that I’m not a big fan of killing bugs, but that was before I saw this bug killing machine gun. I WILL have this to fight back next time. I could totally see myself shooting bugs this way. Bottom line – This is a sophisticated (okay, maybe not) shotgun designed to eliminate pests by shooting bugs with pinches of salt. Don’t make the mistake of thinking this thing is dainty and sweet though, it’s definitely a badass bug killing blaster, and you can watch the video below to see it in action.

Lorenzo Maggiore is the muscle man you see below who created this gun. He sells them for $30 on indiegogo, and he’s already had over $68,000 in sales. That means a lot of bugs will be meeting their maker very soon. You can learn more about this on Bug-A-Salt. According to the website, “Ordinary table salt is utilized as a lethal projectile with accuracy range of 3 to 5 feet. Bugs will remain whole for easy clean up.” Now that is some shooting bugs awesomeness right there! If you want to use salt to let these boogers kill themselves (if you are into the more passive aggressive style of killing bugs), click over to the Gauntlet Of Doom. It’s another juicy nugget which involves a bug adventure.
