Censorship Doesn’t Always Tell The Right Story

I think we all know of some sort of censorship when we think about it. Censorship has two different camps that each have their good and bad points when it comes to why we need it, and why we don’t. Sometimes I think censorship is taken a little too far, and yet other people complain about it not being enough. The debate can go on forever, but one thing is true, and that is that censorship is about keeping people from knowing the truth, whether it be we don’t want to know or someone thinks we shouldn’t know. Either way is fine in some cases, but at times it’s just too much. Well, as you see, we could keep this up for however long we want and yet this article wouldn’t make any more sense.

However, it is when censorship screws up that we really see the errors it could cause. So, before we start laughing, there are of course several different kinds of censorship that is used throughout the world. There is everything from text rewrites to the complete deletion of sections in movies. We also have the “blur” censorship that we have all seen on television, in newspapers and on the Internet.

Is it always good to use it? Can it cause more trouble than it’s worth? My single answer to that one is of course, hell yeah! Just have a look at these three images and tell me censorship is without flaws. I mean, at least I got a huge laugh out of each one of them, and I am sure there are plenty more out there that is just awaiting discovery. If you know your way around Photoshop, you can even create some yourself. Send them to us, and we’ll make an article about it. It’s always fun to see what people come up with.
