Children’s Artwork Comes Alive: Guaranteed To Bring Smiles

Did you used to draw and color a lot when you were young? I did. Back then, getting the big box of 64 crayons with the crayon sharpener on the back was better than winning the lottery. I spent countless hours in my bedroom coloring on any piece of paper I could find.

If you remember doing that too, you probably also remember that what was happening in your imagination didn’t always look like what came out on the paper. As artist Garrett Miller writes, “Kids have the ability to come up with some pretty amazing things, but not always to draw exactly what they were imagining. I’m here to help make those drawing come a little bit closer to reality.”

This reminds me a little of the artist Richard wrote about a while back who interprets kids’ nightmares through art. What Garrett does is truly touching. He makes children’s drawings come alive by adding what he calls “awesome dust.” His interpretations of their drawings are also a gift to the children who originally created them. Archie, age 7, and Carter, age 11, show their reactions in the video below.
