If Computer Warning Messages Could Help Us Out IRL [Humor]

This is one of those geeky ideas that I wish so much could really happen IRL. If you are a computer geek, you are very familiar with those little computer warning pop-up messages that we get every so often. Whether it means we need to renew our anti-virus protection, upgrade our software or download the newest version of whatever we are using, it’s usually something to help us out. The part about those computer warnings that annoys me is that it’s usually something that requires a restart, which as you know is a pain-in-the-butt.

Those computer warning messages are designed to make our online experience easier and our computer happy. Now imagine what it would be like if those computer warnings could make our IRL experience easier and happier too. Wouldn’t that be great? If I had a computer message like this to warn me before I opened my mouth and inserted my foot, my IRL would definitely be nicer.

We could customize our IRL warnings to notify us when we are about to make mistakes in certain areas of our lives, like when we are about to screw up a relationship, gain weight or even talk too much. Yeah, I could totally get into this. Now the question is, where would the message appear? Would we have to wear augmented reality glasses or contact lenses all the time to see them? On another level, we already get warning messages like these in our heads. Usually that little voice that talks to us (the one we don’t always listen to) warns us about a lot of this stuff, right?

Even though these IRL computer warning messages would be super helpful and save us (or me) from a lot of embarrassment throughout life, they will most likely not ever come into existence. It was just a really funny idea posted by Hallie Cantor on College Humor.
