Have you ever noticed how much Star Wars inspires food designers and party planners? Now that I think about it, Star Wars pretty much inspires all geeks, whatever their interests may be. I remember when I wrote the article Geektastic Collection Of Star Wars Inspired Party Foods. If you are a Star Wars fan and a foodie, you will love that massive collection of creative Star Wars food designs.
Today I’d like to share another style with you, which could definitely be added to that list. Japanese sushi chef, Okitsugu Kado, who spends ten hours a day carving vegetables, made these delicious Star Wars creations. As you see, he used all kinds of vegetables including carrots, white potatoes, sweet potatoes, radishes, pumpkins and lettuce. They are all held together with little bamboo sticks and toothpicks. He’s created over 40 sculptures over the past 15 years.
As you can guess, Mr. Kado is a big Star Wars fan. He gets so involved with his carvings that he doesn’t even notice the time. He said, “I’m a huge Star Wars fan and a member of a Japanese fan group called Jedi Order.” You can check out more of his carvings at My Sushi World or visit his restaurant called Minayoshi. Wow, I love it!
