Crop Field Portraits Way Better Than The Harry Potter One

About a week ago, I wrote about the Harry Potter crop portrait created by a farmer. It was impressive to say the least, and there must have been a lot of work that went into creating that one. However, when I first saw it, I was kind of bummed out about the lack of images that showed it. I tried my best to find more, but there simply was none to be found. Instead of wasting more time on it, I just moved on. I kept coming back to this topic though, even if crop circles seem to be kind of yesterday’s news. That’s exactly when I started finding a lot of really cool creations also made using the fields of the farmers. Whether they are crops or not, I have no clue, but the artistic feel in them is in many cases way beyond the Harry Potter one.

You might think that creating portraits using a field is an insanely hard task and that there aren’t many people out there who are doing it. Well, I managed to find quite a few who are dedicated to the trade. Presented below are works of the impressive artistic farmer Stan Herd. The awesomeness that he keeps churning out is nothing less than amazing if you ask me. It’s almost like the portraits are painted onto the field, however that is of course not the case.

Many photographers are mesmerized by his creations and those include Shane Torgerson, Ken Wolf and Craig Wilson. It looks like Stan is quite a busy bee when it comes to being creative, doesn’t it? Well, there is no mistaking that these are very impressive and that we all can’t wait to see what Stan comes up with next. I guess we’ll have to wait because these creations don’t grow on a single day. It’s a labor of love and hard work, and I don’t think we can speed up the process unless he starts to farm bamboo or something. Ultimately, this is more than impressive, and my hat goes off to Stan for his insane dedication and patience!
