A few years ago, crocheting, knitting and needle felting were thought of as hobbies for grandmas. We didn’t hear much about trendy designs created this way, and surely no hipster or geek would be caught dead with a pair of knitting needles. However, all of that has changed now, and these styles of crafting are becoming more and more popular.
Part of that is probably thanks to the worldwide yarn bombing trend that we saw explode on the Internet last spring. Since then we’ve seen this precious needle felted E.T., this needle felted brain specimen, these knitted slabs of meat, and many more fun and fuzzy creations.
The latest in this long line of cute squishy designs is this set of four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Andrea Wuethrich, who is a full-time student living in Los Angeles, makes these and sells them in her Etsy store. Since each one is handmade, they are all a tiny bit different. She crochets the turtles, and makes the weapons out of polymer clay. If you would like to purchase a set from Andrea, just click over to her Etsy store. Andrea, these are soooo cute!
