Fantasies vs. Realities Of A Startup [Infographic]

Starting a company isn’t exactly an easy endeavor. You have to be a certain kind of person in order to stick with it, and as much as you need energy, you also need discipline. Your business won’t run itself if you know what I mean. To start, run and maintain a business of your own is one of the hardest things you can ever undertake. I was lucky to have Diana and Misty join me right in the beginning here on Bit Rebels because their invaluable input, support and hard work have been an energy booster of magnitude. Together we energize and pep each other up to do more things better and greater. The three of us know that whenever one of us is sick, busy or just needs a day off, the other two are always there to kick in and help out.

It can be all diamonds and pearls in your head thinking up an idea and imagining how it will just take over the world in an instant. However, the reality of things may be far from that dream. If you are set on making it, I suggest you start by looking forward to years of hard work. If you have the discipline, patience and the energy, you WILL succeed, there is no other alternative. Whatever you do, don’t expect it to be easy because it isn’t.

I think you’ll do best in checking out the Fantasies vs. Realities of A Startup infographic from TechCrunch and GigaOM because it will have you understanding the excessive work it takes to succeed with your own startup. Research is everything, and I don’t mean a quick poll or randomly asking a friend what he or she thinks. It takes time and possibly experience, and the sooner you realize that, the sooner you will be right on track. If you have an idea, don’t expect it to take off like it was the latest gadget from Apple. Instead, be prepared to slowly get your idea into people’s minds one person at a time. Before you know it, the world will be aware, and you can start taking weekends off. However, don’t expect it to be soon.
