Charms: These Geeky Gaming Charms Will Make You Giddy

Charm bracelets were really popular a few decades ago, and then when people started decorating their iPhones with charms a few years ago, they made a comeback. Those iPhone decorations were part of a trend that came and went quickly, but the charms themselves are still very much alive and kickin. Personally, I love them, but that is probably because I love tiny hand painted decorations that can hang anywhere. I have quite a collection, and my favorite one is my red Pac-Man.

A lot of geeks must like charms because it’s common to see geekness and charms combined. This Wii Video Game Charm Bracelet and this Super Mario 1Up Mushroom Charm Bracelet are perfect examples. Don’t be fooled though, they aren’t just for the ladies. Apparently some guys like to collect them too. There are over 3,800 men’s charm bracelets listed on Etsy right now.

I found out about an artist today who creates the geekiest, cutest little charms I’ve ever seen. She is a 20-year-old gamer and cosplayer named GandaKris. She creates and hand paints these little beauties which not only look like game characters but also all kinds of other geeky things. I especially like her Pokemon, Pokeball, Nintendo hats and Samus helmet ones, but they are all fabulous. There is simply no way I could show them all to you in this article since there are so many, and I hope you will click over to her Jewelry Charms gallery to see the full collection. You can also find GandaKris on Facebook and even see a few of her tutorials on YouTube if you want to learn how to make these yourself. The crazy part is that she sells them for between $7 and $14 each. She even has an order page on deviantART. That is such an inexpensive price that it makes me want to get a whole handful of them. Great job GandaKris!
