Hey kids, lets make guns!

TechEBlog featured a small post on a electromagnetic “coil” gun.   The gun holds 6 metal bolts and uses the power of magnetism to accelerate the bolt to a speed it could actually do some damage.   Whats a little more strange is this is supposedly the side project of a pupil in a schools woodwork class.  I found the video on YouTube with more detail on how it was made, but no more evidence suggesting that it was made in a school…

Just seems there might be something wrong with that kind of idea, kids making pretty much silent weaponry while I was making lamps and stools.  I obviously went to the wrong school.
