iDermal: Magnetic Implants That Attach Your iPod To Your Arm

Well, that’s one way to do it. If you still love your iPod Nano, and if you are tired of using those pesky wrist straps, how about just put four little magnets under your skin to attach it to your arm? It sounds easy enough until you watch this video. I’m sure it’s worth it though. I mean, now you can truly feel like you and your Apple products are attached for life, or at least until you knock your arm on something and it crashes to the floor and breaks.

Nah, in all seriousness, I think Dave Hurban’s idea is pretty cool. That “I’m magnetic” look is kind of sexy (not). Dave is from Dynasty Tattoo in Jersey. His invention is called the iDermal, and it will alleviate the need for an iPod Nano wrist strap forever. You gotta admit, this is pretty darn creative. Apparently the magnets are small enough so they won’t set off a metal detector, and they won’t hurt your laptop when your wrist gets close to it. The magnets are also removable. They almost seem as simple as a piercing, but I’m sure there is more to it than that.

So, if you can stomach the thought of drilling into your wrist to put these badboys in there, this might be the solution for you. I wonder how many magnets it would take to attach my iPad, iPhone and MacBook to my body. I wonder how many Apple products a person could magnet to their body at once. Hmm… It’s tempting, I’m not going to lie, it’s veeeeeery tempting, but I think I’ll stick with my backpack for now.
