I wish SO MUCH I could tell you this bridge is actually made out of Lego bricks. Wouldn’t that be the best bridge ever if it was? They could charge a toll, and I would pay it just to drive over the bricks. Well, this isn’t quite what it looks like. It’s a bit of an illusion because it’s an old ugly bridge that was painted to look like it was made out of Lego bricks. Hey, that’s almost as cool as the real thing, right? Hmm…
Either way, this street art is awesome. I love it. This has to be the geekiest bridge in the whole world. This bridge is 820 feet long, and it took 4 weeks to get all the details just right so it would look like a real Lego bridge.
It’s located in Wuppertal, Germany so if you are ever in that area, please send us some pictures of you there! The bridge’s makeover was completed last fall, and I think it’s one of the best bridge redesigns I’ve seen in a long time. Street artist Megx painted this, and if you check out his website, you’ll see that he’s no stranger to painting big colorful fun designs in urban places. This was such a great idea, not to mention the dramatic difference it made in that space. That ugly old bridge looks brand new and modern again. This kind of reminds me of that artist I wrote about a few years ago who travels the world repairing buildings with real Lego bricks.
