If you are looking for a way to introduce your mini-me geeks to Star Wars, I may have found the perfect solution for you. You can get them as excited about the next Star Wars movie as you by letting them watch this Return of the Jedi video. It’s the junior version, and it’s the most adorable Star Wars video yet. It’s actually a unique trailer for Star Wars: Episode VII. This is what happens when you mix 3 kids, a couple adults with some mad editing skills and a few puppets.
In this version of Return of the Jedi, there is a mini-Sith bully that the Jedi have to fight in order to maintain peace in the galaxy. According to Vimeo, “With fresh excitement over the making of a new Star Wars movie, three children (and some, ahem, adults) set out to make a trailer for a possible Episode 7. Shooting in beautiful Los Angeles including famous Vasquez Rocks and supplementing with VFX and sounds inspired by Star Wars…” After seeing this, I think these Junior Jedi could protect the galaxy just fine.
These three elementary students wanted to create this for a project at their school. It was premiered at Encino Charter Elementary School Movie Night on April 27, 2013 where they won for “Best Group Project.” Sam Hale, one of the adults who helped with this project, said on Vimeo that it was a wonderful bonding experience to create this with the children.
Another great thing about this video is that it’s super short, which fits right into the attention span of all your mini-geeks. So grab a bucket of popcorn and some soda. It’s time to check out Return of the Jedi like you’ve never seen it before. Enjoy!
