Stay Grounded: Living Like Bilbo Baggins Is Now A Reality!

Alright, so how many of you are eager to check out the new Lord Of The Rings movies? I bet they are going to be as good or even better than the 3 movies we have all come to love and marvel over. I must admit that those movies roll frequently on my DVD at home, and I never seem to get enough of them. Even though there are millions and millions of people out there that are interested in knowing how it would be like to live like Bilbo and Frodo Baggins, in a hobbit hole, few would actually go the distance to check it out for real, and there has not really been an opportunity to do so… until now.

The designers over at Materica Studio (no link available) have created the first real working serial production concept living called “Stay Grounded” where you actually live in a hole in the ground. At first glance, it doesn’t look like much, just like with the hobbit hole I guess. However, on the inside, there are vast living quarters and areas that would even marvel the most seasoned architect, I am sure.

[poll id=”5″]It’s a futuristic blend of the old and new, and I for one would truly like to try it out. It is not a house to dream of if you’re dreaming about panoramic views or an ocean view. Since the house is submerged into the ground, there are only windows pointing into the inner courtyard. Featuring a tree and constant exposure to the weather, it’s a place where you will keep your privacy intact. Some people like it and some don’t. Besides, the concept in itself is entirely built around the fact that the house should have zero impact on the environment when it comes to ground level junk. It’s a neat concept that I will follow closely. There are so many benefits for those who argue the fact that saving money is the most important factor when buying a house. I am sure most people could agree to that. As a side note, I know there are some concept replicas of the Hobbit Hole or Bag End that you can purchase, but this is the real deal without having to imitate or feel like you’re living on a movie set.
