When the steampunk style first became popular a few years ago, the designs we saw were all very Victorian, like watches and small gadgets with little screws and brass handles. The steampunk style of design has evolved a lot since then, and as we’ve mentioned on Bit Rebels before, we are now seeing just about everything steampunked.
A steampunk designer is only limited by his or her imagination, and we’ve seen some crazy stuff steampunked. For example, we’ve featured a steampunk Mr. Potato head, a steampunk etch-a-sketch and even a steampunk Mp3 player. Probably the wildest thing we’ve seen so far is this steampunk apartment. Yep, someone in Manhattan actually steampunked his entire apartment. I remember last summer when Richard wrote about this badass steampunk laptop. That particular design was an absolute beauty, and the detail was insane.
This build below is a beautiful custom made one-of-a-kind 20-inch widescreen LCD monitor and wireless keyboard-mouse combo all steampunked. It was created by woodguy32, and he has it for sale in his Etsy store for $1,439. Hmm… That’s a little pricey for me, but if you’re a steampunk fan with some cash to drop, this might be just what you’ve been looking for.
