Teenager Builds Ultra-Powerful Death Ray

Dang, the teenagers of today are so different than when I was younger. When I was a teenager, I used to ride my moped to Burger King (aka the BK Lounge) to meet up with my friends. Today’s teenagers are first generation digital natives, which means they are doing much more exciting things than hanging out with friends after school.

Thanks to technology, kids are now making movies with killer special effects, creating machines nobody has ever seen before and even traveling around the world alone. This teenager, Eric Jacqmain, created a fully working death ray. According to Dvice, it is powerful enough to “melt steel, vaporize aluminum, boil concrete, turn dirt into lava, and obliterate any organic material in an instant.”

Just how hot does this death ray get? Eric says it harnesses the power of 5,000 suns. Just to put this in perspective, he has vaporized carbon, which means it was a minimum of 6,500 degrees Fahrenheit. He made this by using a fiberglass satellite dish and 5,800 little mirrors.  The ironic part of the story is that his death ray caused a fire in his family’s backyard shed, which destroyed it. According to Eric, it commit suicide. But no worries, Eric is working on a bigger better more powerful death ray right now. His new one will be made with 32,000 mirrors instead of 5,800. Eric, you are a maaaaaad scientist! Congrats!
