The Awesome Retro Use Of Recycled Cassettes

Do you miss the days when you could pop one of your cassettes into your Walkman and walk around listening to your merry music in your absolutely awesome yet ridiculous headphones? Well, I am sorry to tell you, but unless you have a truckload of cassettes and a working Walkman, there’s not much we can do about that now.

If you do have some cassettes laying around your house, and if you want to find an alternate uses for them, then I have a couple of solutions for you that might be an option. However, don’t expect to be fronting those cassettes after you’re done with them because they will never be what they used to be. The simple task of retrofying your lifestyle goes way beyond wearing that Walkman and headphones, and it’s of course up to you if you want to step into the past and keep those cassette dreams alive. You never know, some geek might be sitting in his garage right now working on a new way to use cassettes, and make them the next world empire. Chances are slim, but not impossible, right?

The artist of these heavenly creations must have put a considerable amount of time and thought into making all of these things possible. The chair alone must have taken at least 500-1000 cassettes, if not more. The result and the retro feel of them all is unbelievably appealing, at least to look at. I don’t know if I would house them in my own home, but they would certainly make a great contribution to the studio.

It seems in most of these creations, only the jewel case has been used. I keep wondering what happened to all the cassettes themselves. Maybe they were all recycled into those awesome Flash memory cases or some other worldly creation that is being sold on Etsy. After all, Etsy is the place where geeks share their awesomeness with the masses, and make a few bucks per sale. Well, sometimes even a few hundred actually. Ultimately, if you’re in the mood for retrofying your home or your lifestyle, then these creations are definitely for you. It’s never too late to bring back the cassette, NEVER!
