The Zelda Project: 7 Simply Stunning Photographs From Hyrule

Whether you have been a dedicated Zelda fan since the 1986 release of The Legend of Zelda, a fan of Ocarina of Time, or just jumping on the Hyrulian bandwagon with the most recent release of Skyward Sword, you are going to like this. I believe anyone who loops themselves in with the geek lifestyle can appreciate the world that is The Legend of Zelda. This is why I believe that the work being done at The Zelda Project is something that anyone who is a fan of the franchise should check out.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is my all time favorite video game, and I also share a love for all the other Zelda games. So, when I stumbled upon this Zelda project website, my brain almost exploded with sheer excitement. The Zelda Project began with a group of cosplayers who wanted to take a Zelda-themed cosplay group to an anime convention in 2004.

The idea snowballed, and they ended up taking it to the next level and creating stunning sets and more detailed costumes. Then they turned them into wonderful photo shoots. 2007 rolled around and the group began to take the idea a little more seriously, and it escalated to the idea of implementing CGI and 3D. This addition led to the first photo shoot that ended up officially being released in 2010, which consisted of a set based on the Lost Woods, and it featured Link’s childhood friend Saria. On top of that, they released a full set of photographs based on Lon Lon Ranch featuring Link, Epona, and Malon (and they have plans for more to come).

After the launch of the site and the production of the photo shoots, they decided that if they combined the innovative visions of the creators with the use of actors, they could create a short film based on the final boss battle between Ganondorf and Link. You can go to the Zelda Project website to view all the photo shoots that have been completed thus far, and keep up to date on their plans for the short film.
