9 Risk Takers That Succeeded Against All Odds [Infographic]

People always seem to wonder why some individuals are more successful than others. The equation for success may be one that few have cracked, however, luck has as much to do with it as cleverness and the will to risk it all. When you have a look at the most successful people in sports, arts and, of course, business, you quickly see a pattern emerging. The thing they all have in common is that they are all risk takers. Everyone from Bill Gates and Steve Jobs to Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg decided to risk it all to reach the goal of their ambitions.

Taking risks is not as easy as it sounds. If you continuously keep taking risks, you are bound to fail at some point. This is something that will always happen. However, the question is never whether you will fail or not, but if you will have the cleverness to see why risking it all would be a better decision than to play it safe.

When you hit up an online casino, you never expect to win 100% of the times you play, correct? That would be unrealistic and would certainly lead to you losing all your money. Instead, you consider every move carefully and weigh the chances of winning against losing. [pullquote]In certain situations, you risk it all and win, and that’s how you learn to evaluate the risks versus the reward. Risking it all at the casino is very similar to risking it all in business, sports or arts.[/pullquote]

Some of the world’s best online casinos know this, and therefore they are prepared to reward you handsomely. All you have to do is to play your game the way you would in any other situation.

You can, of course, crunch the numbers and find the likelihood of your success. However, you will never know whether risking it all is a success until you have done it. I know plenty of people, including myself that are constantly crunching the numbers and even though it helps, it’s the gut feeling that usually pays off in the end.

I think you could say that the most successful people in the world are the ones that have a knack for evaluating risky situations and combine it with their gut feeling. Through history, there have been a lot of people that have risked it all, however, in this article we are going to take a closer look at nine of them. They are all portrayed in an infographic called “Beating The Odds: Through History” and it is created by NowSourcing.

Take the United States Army Pigeon named G.I. Joe for example. Over 100 soldiers trapped in a village risked it all when communications were down, and they had to put all their trust in G.I. Joe. The pigeon flew twenty miles in twenty minutes to the ally base and called off the bombers just as they were ready to take off.

Another lucky strike for one of the risk takers on the list is when McAffe, an LAPD vice commander on the run for his not-so-secret ties with the mob, decided to try his luck on legal casinos instead. Risking it all, his second venture “The Golden Nugget” became the largest casino in the world which ultimately transformed the Vegas strip into a popular travel destination. No doubt was setting up legal gambling systems and running the world’s largest casino a way more lucrative business for McAffe than continuing to affiliate himself with the mob.

As you can see, risk takers may not succeed 100% of the times they deal, however, their gut feeling usually pays off in the end. It’s a balancing act that few master, however, when you do there is no telling how successful you can become.

Perhaps one of the best examples of successful risk takers is Elon Musk. Elon risked it all on both Tesla and SpaceX and at one point it looked as if his gambling would be the end of his entrepreneurial success story. As we all know, luckily it did not turn out that way, and we are instead able to add him to the list of risk takers that risked it all for even greater success.

Have a look at the infographic below and marvel at the rest of the risk takers and how they found success. Maybe you have the same attuned gut feeling as the risk takers on the list. Remember, though, taking risks is all about knowing all the factors and putting it together into a clever game plan.
