I often hear people say, “It’s the little things in life that make it sweet.” I have to agree with that. Life isn’t just all about grand occasions, although those are nice too. It’s also about noticing and appreciating little things like a kind word, a smile from a stranger or even a pretty flower.
I recently learned how to do something that many of you might think is one of those little things in life, but to me, it’s a huge accomplishment. Up until about a month ago, I didn’t know how to swim. I could of course tread water and occasionally get a moderately good doggy paddle going, but that was it. I couldn’t put my face in the water without plugging my nose, and I certainly couldn’t swim like an adult.
I’ve been practicing a lot over the past few summers, and now I can swim. I’m no master or anything of course, but my son pushed me in the water the other day and to my surprise, I didn’t come up choking and gasping for air. Yay! I’ve been spending a lot of time at the pool the past few weeks now that it’s officially summertime, and it got me thinking about water sports and all the fun we can have.
I stumbled across these pictures of animals doing their unintentional version of synchronized swimming, and I thought it would be fun to share them with you today.
