Canon D60 Camera (With Battery Grip) Created Out Of Solid Chocolate

These days, it seems like almost everything from an iPhone to a pair of high heel shoes can be created from chocolate. Whatever it is you like, you can probably find someone who makes it from chocolate. Up until today, probably the most outlandish chocolate creation I’ve written about was the chocolate record player that actually plays records. Today I have another goodie to share with you. This is a chocolate Canon D60 camera with extraordinary detail.

I know there are a lot of photographers who read Bit Rebels, and if you are one of them, and if you like chocolate, you are going to love this! This huge chunk of chocolate deliciousness was created by Etsy user Hans Chung. There have only ever been 3 made, and he only wants to make 5 more. He points out that his version of the Canon D60 camera does not come with a chocolate SD card, chocolate battery, chocolate lens cap or chocolate strap.

The process he goes through for making this is very interesting. First, take a look at what a real Canon D60 camera looks like. As you see, Hans’ version looks just like it. According to Etsy, Hans said, “I buy a real camera and a real lens. Then I make a mold box and make a mold. The camera is pretty much destroyed in the process. Making a mold of something so intricate is not easy or cheap. The mold material required to achieve this level of detail does not last beyond 10 copies. Each camera takes about 5 hours of elapsed time of tempering and pouring.” Plus, he only uses high quality Guitard chocolate. After reading all that, it might make more sense why this chocolate Canon D60 camera costs $500. The real Canon D60 camera costs $1,000. Dang, that is one expensive dessert! For a die hard photography fan though, it might just be worth it.
